British Virgin Islands Premier Natalio Wheatley is promoting a deeper partnership with India as the territory seeks to strengthen its international economic and diplomatic relationships.

Speaking during the BVI’s first India Financial Services Roadshow, held in New Delhi on August 24, Wheatley described the mission as an important step toward expanding cooperation between the British Virgin Islands and India.

The Premier is leading a 12-member BVI delegation during the territory’s first India Trade Mission, with meetings focused on financial services, investment, technology, healthcare, tourism and digital transformation.

The BVI is also seeking to establish a dedicated BVI-India investment corridor, potentially creating stronger links between Indian companies, international investors and the territory’s financial-services industry.

For the BVI government, the India initiative represents a major push to diversify international partnerships and strengthen the territory’s position in global finance and investment.

The delegation’s programme includes engagement with Indian government officials, financial-sector leaders and legal professionals, making the mission one of the territory’s most significant recent international diplomatic initiatives.
