The British Virgin Islands is seeking to establish a dedicated investment corridor with India as the Territory steps up efforts to attract new international business and strengthen its financial-services sector.
The proposal was highlighted during the BVI’s first India Financial Services Roadshow, part of a trade mission led by Premier and Finance Minister Natalio Wheatley. The mission is focused on expanding cooperation in financial services, investment, trade and legal services.
The proposed corridor could create stronger connections between Indian companies expanding overseas, BVI-based financial professionals and international investors seeking access to India.
Officials are also promoting the BVI as a potential gateway for Indian businesses seeking global investment opportunities, while exploring cooperation beyond finance in areas such as technology, healthcare, tourism and digital transformation.
The initiative could open new opportunities for BVI financial-services firms, professional advisers and other businesses, particularly if stronger cross-border investment relationships develop.
The India mission represents a significant expansion of the BVI’s international business outreach and comes as the Territory seeks to position itself for the next generation of global investment flows.
