Guadeloupe is making significant progress in its digital infrastructure rollout, with fibre-optic availability reaching 95.6% of premises covered by the national high-speed broadband programme.

Updated government territorial data shows that 283,620 of approximately 296,707 premises in Guadeloupe were eligible for FTTH fibre connections as of April 2026. The figures were published in the latest August 2026 digital territory update.

Public investment is also playing an important role. In areas covered by public-initiative networks, 97.9% of premises are now connectable, while private investment areas have also reached high coverage levels.

The expansion is important for Guadeloupe’s technology ecosystem because faster broadband can support remote work, cloud services, digital businesses, online education and technology startups.

The territory also has an expanding digital-support ecosystem. GuadeloupeTech, a recognised digital-economy organisation, provides entrepreneurs, students and technology professionals with coworking, fibre connectivity, workshops and innovation support.

The combination of expanding fibre infrastructure and stronger support for digital entrepreneurs could help Guadeloupe accelerate its technology transition.
